Celebrating Onam !

Food, festivals and feasts, a seamless whole everywhere - and in Kerala, too, where hotels and homes are getting ready to serve a traditional 27-course meal as Onam celebration has began on yesterday.

Onam is one of the most important festival of Kerala. It is a bright and colorful festival that celebrates the bounties of nature and a year of good harvest. The festival stretches on for ten days - days filled with feasting, boat racing, singing and dancing. Rituals along with new clothes, traditional cuisine, dance, and music mark this harvest festival.

The spectacular festival attracts thousands of tourists from across the country and globe. Immense popularity of the festival is further promoted by the Government of India by celebrating Kerala Tourism Week during the time of Onam.
