57th National Film Awards | National Awards 2010

The 57th National Film Awards were announced today by head of the awards jury Ramesh Sippy in New Delhi.

Amir Khan's '3 idiots' won 4 awards (much expected, anyways) - Best Popular Film, Best Director and Best Producer and Swananad Kirkirey for Best Lyrics.

Amitabh Bachchan won the best actor award for his role of a child suffering with progeria in the film 'Paa'. This is the third national award for Amitabh. Bengali actress Ananya Chaterjee was awarded the Best Actress award for Abohoman.

'Pasanga' has been selected as the Best Tamil film in the regional awards category. Maestro Illayaraja won the Best Background Score Award for 'Pazhassi Raja'.

Best Film on National Integration - Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's 'Dilli-6'

Best Camerawork - Anjali Shukla.

Best Music Director - Amit Trivedi for Dev D

Best Playback Singer (Male) - Rupam Islam

Best Playback Singer (Female) - Niranjana Sarkar (Housefull)

Best Sound Engineer - Oscar winner Resul Pookutty

Best lyrics - Swananad Kirkirey for 3 Idiots

Best Choreography - K Shivashankar for film Magadheera

Best Children Film - Ottani Pati and Kesu
